Winterton-On-Sea

Jellyfire's picture

Winterton-On-Sea is a small coastal village on the Norfolk Coast. If you are looking for deserted sand dunes and windswept sandy beaches this is the place to come. The dunes stretch for miles along the coast, and there are nearby breeding seal colonies so its not unusual to sea a seal or two rolling around on the shore. The sun rises over the sea so early morning gives the best light on the dunes. There is a large offshore wind farm which makes an interesting focal point on the horizon.

The village has a pub which serves food and a couple of small shops. There is an attractive church with a tall tower, at the time of writing there was scaffodling over it but this is due to be removed in early 2014.

On the outskirts of the village is a windfarm, with a quiet road through the centre which makes it a great spot for shooting.

The windswept nature of the place makes it a good choice for winter shooting, though there are lots of photo opportunites all year round.

Another stunner Lee, thank you for taking the time to share it! I've given you another 50 bonus points, you aren't too far away from your free upgrade now. Norfolk is definitely on our list of places to visit - I think it might have to be the next photo tour we do.

Great, thanks! Got a couple more to go up when I get time actually. If you do head over Norfolk way, be prepared its not quite as mountainous as Wales, takes a bit of getting used to shooting such flat landscapes if youre used to sweeping vistas!
