Tynemouth Metro Station, North Tyneside
Tynemouth Metro station is one of the oldest and grandest stations on the Tyne and Wear Metro network. The railway station was opened in 1882 and is now a Grade II listed building. It has been recently refurbished to its former glory.
There’s lots of potential shots and interesting perspectives all around the station complex. Looking through the archway in the main entrance across towards the footbridge over to the Northbound platform is a favourite of mine. It looks equally, or if not even better lit up at dusk when the interesting colours in the sky can be seen through the glass roof. You can also try and capture some long exposure trails of the train lights.
A market is held every weekend, so it’s probably best to visit this location on a weekday.
