You are here
Llangattock, Brecon Beacons
This location is the site of some old mine and quarry workings that have long since become overgrown. They provide a fantastic view over the Usk valley, primarily overlooking the village of Crickhowell and the town of Abergavenny to the south. There are a couple of old stone buildings in various stages of ruin as well as the spoil mounds from the old mine and quarry activities.
Ample car parking is available only a short walk away but some parts of the site are very steep in places with loose rocks so I would advise sturdy footwear. The weather in the region can be unpredictable, changing in an instant so make sure you have a waterproof close at hand!
Further photographic opportunities are also available if you follow the road further round the top of the hill towards Brynmawr, this will give views over the village of Gilwern and the deep valley leading towards it.
