Edstone Aqueduct

macuser's picture

Edstone Aqueduct also known as Bearley Aqueduct is situated on the Stratford Upon Avon Canal. At 250 Yards long it’s the longest aqueduct in England. Support by thirteen brick piers it spans a road and two railway lines, of which the sunset occurs behind, this creates a beautiful orange glow on the railway lines!
From a photographers point of view this aqueduct is particularly special, not only because of it’s vast size but also because the tow path is on a level with the base of the aqueduct rather than traditionally the lip of the trough. This creates the opportunity to create interesting perspectives when narrow boats pass above.
