Avebury village is set within a large prehistoric stone circle, older than Stonehenge. Situated well on the tourist trail, it gets busy in summer and is best visited early morning or late afternoon in summer.

White Horse Hill
South West Oxfordshire
The giant white horse figure of Uffington in south west Oxfordshire was carved into the chalky ground approx. 3000 years ago. The hill is the highest point in Oxfordshire and on a clear, crisp day you can view for miles.
