Whitby is an ancient sea port close to the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. It also has to be one of the best places in the country for photographers. Many DPC students have visited Whitby and I never cease to be amazed at the variety of images they submit.

A wide vista of the southern loch can be best seen from this location. To create a similar image you need a calm day, be there at sunrise, late autumn to early spring. The second image was taken early morning to the left of the Pier.

Very close to Keswick is the lovely Derwent Water, a magnet for all visitors to the Lake District. Lovely walks, boating, fell walking, and simply idling away the time are all catered for near this wonderful stretch of water.

A little known location, Loganlea Reservoir has a lot to offer. Changes greatly with the seasons, looks fantastic with snow on the hills. There are a couple of piers which make fantastic foreground subjects. The long exposure technique is really suited to this location!
