Derelict

Corfe castle is best visited out of season as it is very much on the tourist trail, the path up to and through the castle is steep in places but requires no special footwear. Corfe castle is owned by the National Trust and charges a small fee - members go free.

The beautiful Cobb is a harbour breakwater, shaped a little like the neck of a swan, hence the name the Cobb.

Durdle Door is possibly the most well known landmark on the Dorset coast. Dependent on the time of year it can be good for sunrise and sunset shots (and moonrises as this image shows!).

Portland Limestone

A great spot for sunrise shots as you get the rocks with the sun rising over Kimmeridge Bay in the distance. It's worth getting down to the shore at low tide because there are some fascinating rock formations but check the tide times as it's easy to get cut off.

Long exposure

Any time of day is worth a visit, sunrise or set, but also during the day to get some minimalist long exposures. Plenty of compositions can be found.

Man O war bay is located right next to Durdle door on the Dorset coastline, and possesses many great photographic opportunities. It is great to shoot at both sunrise and sunset, particularly in the winter as there are far less tourists.

Fleet is a large lagoon, located behind Chesil beach near Weymouth. The best part of fleet to photograph has to be the old jetty, near Charlestown at East Fleet.

Ringstead bay is a relatively un photographed part of the Dorset coastline. It lies about a mile east of Osmington Mills and is, in my opinion, a great place to take photos.
