"Lumiere, a festival of light for Durham, will return to the city in November with a new programme, bringing sparkling winter magic to the North East once again. In November 2009, Lumiere, transformed the city into a nocturnal wonderland for four magical nights. An estimated 75,000 people flocked into town to see the dozens of artworks, projections and performances all made of light.

This November, Lumiere returns to Durham with a bigger, brighter and bolder festival. Lumiere will set Durham ablaze with light artworks transforming the landmarks, streets, river and bridges of the city in playful and imaginative ways to delight and surprise its audience. This year’s festival programme will include a raft of new works by internationally renowned artists, and a brand new strand of commissions from local artists and creative people."

External Cathedral shots are wonderful, I was there on the Sunday night and can really appreciate how difficult it is getting anything half decent in those dim conditions with the projections moving over the Cathedral. Superb work.
